With over 1500 participants, the third annual Run for the Ribbon 5k Run/Walk will be held at the Detroit Zoo on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 8AM.

Encourage your friends and family to support prostate cancer treatment, education and research by pledging support for your run/walk.
Register in Person
Registration is available at all Michigan Institute of Urology offices and Hanson’s Running Shop locations including Grosse Pointe, Lake Orion, Royal Oak and Utica.
Race Day Registration
Available 6:30am – 7:30am at The Detroit Zoo
Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up is available at the following Michigan Institute of Urology Offices from 11am-7pm Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17, 2011 and 10am-2pm Saturday June 18, 2011.

Race Day Information
- Start, finish and free parking located at the Detroit Zoo
- Free entry to the Detroit Zoo following the race for all registered runners/ walkers
- Prostate cancer survivors will receive a commemorative hat
- Participants will have the option to wear a blue ribbon in honor of individuals stricken with prostate cancer
- Live entertainment and refreshments following the race
Timing: Only registered runners will be chip-timed
Race T-shirts: Registered participants will receive an official race T-shirt. Sizes may be limited for same day registrants.
Awards
Special Awards will be presented to:
- Top three female and top three male runners age 39 and under
- Top three Master female and top three Master male runners age 40 and older
- Top wheeler
All finishers will receive commemorative medals
The first female and male finishers in the following age groups will be recognized in the online and printed results:
17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and older.
This event will occur regardless of the weather. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds; rather, the entry fee will be used as a donation to MIU-Run for the Ribbon.
